Here’s how to properly store your boat:
Fuel stabilizer. A fuel stabilizer should be added to a full gasoline tank to prevent condensation in the fuel tank and fuel lines. First, fill the tank with gas and add a stabilizer according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Then run the washer motor for about a minute to force the cleaned gas through the system. Most products require 1 ounce of stabilizer for every gallon of gas.
Rinse. Then unhook the washer and drain the water from the gearbox. Fill it up with new grease. If you notice water in the flushed grease, this may be a sign that the shaft seal needs to be replaced. If you suspect so, don’t delay.
